I thought, seeing as how it’s been some time since we’ve started to date, and my girlfriend told me early on in our relationship that the ‘flowers stop’ as the relationship grows and settles down from the gee whiz we’re dating period to the much more stable period where we just are together. And she’s right, after a while relationships do settle to a more preferable and comfortable level where we are just there for each other, regardless.

But, you don’t want to get too, too, settled in your ways and either a single red rose, or an entire bouquet can makes somebody’s day for one simple reason and that is the fact that you stopped your busy life long enough to say “I love you”, and really that’s all you need to do and there’s no better way of saying I love you than with one bouquet or even a single red rose stem.

When shopping for red roses in Canada you have four choices to make:

Delivery: Hand Delivered by you, or buy the flowers online and have them sent.
Price: One rose will be cheaper. A dozen gets you more.

So what’s a guy to do? I have found the best deals on roses at my local grocer, of all places. I live in Toronto in Canada, and my grocery store offers the best flowers at the best prices I can find. I surprised her with two dozen red roses for much, much less than she thinks I paid for them and cost me less than half price than if I were to buy red roses online.

It is important to use orchid fertilizer in the correct amount and at the proper time of the growing season. Orchid flowers have certain periods when they grow very robustly and produce masses of flowers. It is during these times that orchids expend a considerable amount of energy, thus, making this a great time for making the plant food applications more frequent. It is advisable to apply the feed more often rather than just increase the feed concentration.

Avoid fertilizers that may contain urea. Urea is really a definite no go area, orchid flowers can’t handle it. Lots of standard, general plant foods designed for home use often include urea. This particular chemical substance is considered inappropriate for orchid flowers and it is wise to avoid this. Read the labels on any fertilizer package thoroughly to check if they contain urea.

The majority of people apply liquid fertilizers to orchid flowers as this is a reliable as well as manageable procedure. Finding a spray container and using liquid orchid fertilizer is the perfect method to use whenever managing orchid flowers. Use a reduced rate of virtually any plant food you are giving to the orchid flowers as they tend to be quite sensitive. Try to make sure that your particular plants and flowers get ample water drainage, especially in the growing time whenever you will be using plant foods continually. Salts and minerals can build up within the plant compost over time and these need to be cleared to avoid burning. These environmental variables are important to growing plants and flowers safely, and underscore some of the key advantages of grow tents. For indoors settings, pests like spider mites are a common threat to plants. This is partly due to the fact that they’re small, and not easily visible without magnification, so that they’re presence is only suspected after plants have been nibbled down. But the key reason is the warm environment in which spider mites thrive, which is between 70 and 80 degrees. Grow tents can be set to around 60 degrees to discourage spider mite infestation.

Mold, which also thrives indoors under warm, dark conditions, can also be abated with a grow tent. Grow boxes and tents have use HID grow lights reflected by the canvas’ silvered interior lining—at least in newer models. The growth of bud mold, also known as gray mold, can be further prevented by maintaining a similar 60 degree temperature inside and attached an exhaust fan to one of the tent’s ports. Keep the humidity level at or below 50%.

It was mentioned that new models featured silvered lining, which is usually made of Mylar. This is important to maximizing the amount of light from HID grow lights, which are far less efficient for inducing photosynthesis than the best LED grow lights (tri-band, which emphasizes the Photosynthetically Active Radiation zone of the spectrum to which chlorophyll is most responsive). However, since Mylar is 30% more reflective than lining made of white plastic, the light inefficiency is mitigated somewhat.

Perhaps the most important reason to avoid grow tents with white plastic is that they’ve been found to induce toxic offgassing in plants, turning them yellow or white. Offgassing is the release of chemical fumes from volatile organic compounds. Most drivers are familiar with offgassing from the smell of a new car’s interior. However, many plants and flowers are particularly sensitive to offgassing (sometimes known as outgassing) and, unlike drivers in cars, spend days at a time sealed inside of a toxic environment. Most grow tents that use plastic interior lining are out of production, but anyone shopping online for used models should pay careful attention to the type of inner lining being used.

First of all, LED grow lights do not give out as many toxic emissions as older lights do. For example, the widely used fluorescent bulb gives off a slight vapor of mercury and is quite dangerous if it should ever break. Because these LED bulbs do not use a great deal of electrical energy, they have a small carbon footprint. Carbon has been shown to contribute to the ever-increasing problem of global warming.

Secondly, as was previously mentioned, the LED grow light is considerably cheaper to operate than similarly used older versions. While the bulb itself is initially expensive, the price is more than made up by its electricity savings and by its incredibly long life. Most LED bulbs have a lifespan of 50,000 hours of use or more; this translates on average into eight to twelve years of use. Another type of cost savings comes from the fact that the LED varieties do not break easily and do not require the usual mounting ballast which needs to be replaced periodically.

In the third place, the plants themselves experience great benefits from a full spectrum led grow light. Traditionally, indoor lighting for plants was very hot and required reflectors to produce enough light and fans to cool down the surrounding air. LED lights are comparatively cool and do not scorch and kill the leaves or fruit nor do they dry out the plants’ delicate root systems. Also, this type of lighting gives the plants the full light spectrum which aids in photosynthesis.

A high power led grow light is a wonderful investment. While it may seem to be initially expensive, it will more than pay for itself in the end by using less electricity and by growing healthier plants than were produced using traditional fluorescent or HID lights. This is a vital concept as more families and stores turn to homegrown and organic produce for their food.

Firstly I am going to consider artificial flowers and how they effect your work place and your or your clients moods.

First of all, are you type of person who has the time or the dedication to look after real live plants? Most of the time we just don’t have the time at work to go around checking all the plants are OK, have a good supply of water, light and air etc. This is where artificial or silk flowers come in. They require no really care what so ever. Since they are not living objects they don’t need light, they don’t need to be watered at the correct intervals, they don’t need watered at all and they don’t need fresh air to keep them alive. Silk flowers just keep going and going. The only maintenance you need to do is to keep them clean. You don’t want a build up for dust and dirt to effect you or your work performance.

If you get tired of looking at the same flowers all the time and decide you want a change then its not a problem. If you buy a new plant you can store the silk flowers away until you fancy using them again. Or even using them in a different place, take them home, give them to a work colleague.

Also if you have a favourite variety of flower you want and cant get them fresh because they are not in season then you can opt of  silk flowers instead, they are not effected by season and you can have any flower you want, when ever you want. A summer bouquet with Carnations and Gladioli in the dead of winter? Then that’s not a problem with silk flowers.

The downsides to artificial flowers is that they don’t have that scent that fresh flowers have. Of course they come scented but it just isn’t the same. They also don’t give off that same feeling in the air around them.

This is where fresh flowers excel, as soon as you walk into a room with a lovely fresh bouquet or new potted plant you know its there. There is that wonderful smell that you just cant recreate, no matter how hard we try. And there’s they feel and atmosphere that fresh plants create. There is no way you are going to get that from artificial plants or flowers.

While silk flower have really moved forward regarding how they look, they just don’t have that same class and finesse that real plants do.

Sadly you have got to look after fresh potted plants, making sure they have enough water, light and air for them to survive. If you have time and have an interest in keeping your plants looking good then this isn’t a problem. If you cant be bothered with the hassle then you might be better taking artificial flowers. For me silk flowers have their place, but there really is no substitute for the real thing.

Before I started to write this I was under the impression that fresh flowers were going to walk all over their silk counterparts, but after some research it turns out it’s a close match.

Artificial flowers really do have advantages over fresh flowers. If you suffer from allergies do you really want to run the risk of having red eyes, be sneezing or have a rash on  your big day? With silk flowers this problem is overcome, there are nothing in them that’s going to cause any sort of irritations.

Silk flowers really have moved forward in recent times, when you look at artificial flowers you really are hard pushed to tell the difference between them and real flowers. They just look so similar now. Not only that, the beauty of the flowers can be kept forever, silk isn’t going to fade or wilt in time, so you are always going to have them to look at in years to come, to bring back those wonderful memories. You also have the choice of reusing those flowers in the future. Whether you would want to or not is up to you.

If you opt for the fresh variety for your wedding day you are limited by what season we are currently in. Certain flowers are restricted to growing at specific times of the year, if the flower you love isn’t in season then its going to be very hard to get it for your wedding. Silk doesn’t go in and out of season, so your choices are limitless. Not only have go unlimited choices on the flowers you want they are going to cost less than the real thing. Saving you money when planning the wedding might let you spend it elsewhere.

Its not all bad news for fresh flowers though, they do have their advantages. If you are into following tradition, then there is only one option for you. Artificial flowers will never take that title away from fresh. There’s also that scent! Artificial flowers may come scented, but there really is no comparison to the smell of real flowers.

While silk flowers look very similar to real ones, there is still something about the look of the real thing that just sets something off in the mind. They just look great.

There are some more downsides though, fresh flowers really have to be looked after on the days up to the wedding for them to be looking at their prime. If something happens are the florist that means they are not stored under optimal conditions then they may just go off before the weddings gets under way.

At the end of the day the final decision comes down to how the bride feels, if she wants traditional then there’s only 1 option, is she’s not bothered about that then there are plenty of pros and cons to consider for each. Speaking to a florist in person may make that choice easier.
